Born and raised in Napa Valley, educated at UC Santa Cruz, and a resident of San Francisco for over two decades, I might have seemed destined to remain a Bay Area fixture. Yet lately I’ve been off seeing other parts of the world, traveling in Asia, the Middle East, and Europe, and of course writing about my experiences.

I’ve written two novels, two short story collections, a young adult novel, a travel memoir, a novella, and, a little to my surprise, a play.
